Departed this life on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 after a battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy “Dottie” Williams for 45 years. Devoted father of daughters Monica Williams, Tracey (Williams) Wright and son-in-law Andre Wright and son Derek Williams. Loving grandfather of Taylor and Brandon Wright and loving brother of Irene and brother-in law Stephen Young of New Orleans, LA. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma (Seraile) Mills, father Frank Williams and other beloved family members. He was a remarkable man with an incredible sense of humor who was very much loved and will be deeply missed.The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Coleville United Methodist Church, 52 Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904. GERARDUS MARIA WILHELMUS van den HEUVEL (Age 89)

On Thursday, February 11, 2016 of Silver Spring, MD, passed away after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease. Born in the Netherlands on April 1,1926, he served in the Dutch Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer and emigrated to the U.S. in 1948, serving as an attaché with the Dutch Embassy in Washington, DC. Later, he received a master”s degree in commercial science at Benjamin Franklin University also in Washington, DC, which he used in his lifelong pursuit in the accounting field. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Adriana van den Heuvel; his two sons Ron van den Heuvel, and Eddie van den Heuvel and daughter Sylvia Hertzberg. But most of all he will be remembered as a strong, principled man bound to his love of God, and his ability to provide the best life has to offer for his family. Services and interment private.

She worked for Verizon until her retirement in 1991. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John Traina, two daughters, Denise (Gladden) Austin and Kelly Gladden; one son-in-law, Ronald Austin and a host of family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 805 Wayne Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Martha Beatrice (Heffernan) Doyle died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Riderwood retirement community in Silver Spring, MD, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, John L. “Jack” Doyle. Martha was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 8, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Joseph H. Heffernan and Beatrice (Jones) Heffernan. A graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. Martha settled in Lewisdale, MD, where she was a very active parishioner of St. Mark”s Catholic Church and volunteer with So Others Might Eat (SOME). She had lived at Riderwood retirement community since 2001 where she enjoyed regular activities and had many friends. A devout Catholic, Martha lived a wonderful, faith-filled life as wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her five sons: John (Sharon), Kevin (Valerie), David (Debra), Michael (Kat), and Chris (Terri). She is survived by her 10 grandchildren: Melonie Doyle, Tammy MacAnanny, Shannon (Kevin) Goodman, Mary Doyle, Chris (Megan) Doyle, Mike (Jill) Doyle, Ivy Doyle, Zach Doyle, Katie Doyle, and Riley Doyle. She is survived by eight great-grandchildren: Shelby MacAnanny, Hailey MacAnanny, Kevin Goodman Jr., Peyton MacAnanny, Jayden Goodman, Skylar MacAnanny, Cheyenne Hensley, and Mary Claire Doyle. She is survived by her brother David (Evelyn) Heffernan and nephews DJ Heffernan and Mark Heffernan. PAULINE FRANCES NOWAK

Pauline Frances Nowak, her chosen name, a child of Buffalo passed on February 4, 2016. She lived a full life marked by achievements and joy. Wherever she went, wherever she lived, and whomever she loved, she brought her Buffalo values with her. Care, concern, and putting the needs of others first. She was a pioneer as one of the first women to attend the University of Buffalo Law School. She was at the forefront of racial and economic equality. She followed her ideals and values and worked for successive political administrations to solidify and accomplish goals to improve the life and plight of others. Along the way, she raised three children, Mr. David Christopher Joseph Trezevant, Mr. William Francis Trezevant, and Mrs. Danielle Amaris (Trezevant) Kenny.  She believed that anybody and everybody, regardless of circumstances or status, could be better and could do better.  She is survived by her three children: David C.J. Trezevant, a prominent member of Washington D.C.; William F. Trezevant, Esq., a Buffalo attorney; and her beloved daughter Danielle A. (Trezevant) Kenny and her husband Kevin S. Kenny and their five children: Mariah A. Kenny, Lauren T. Kenny, Sierra M. Kenny, Addison R. Kenny, and Isaiah M.
